Hello! It’s day 37 out 90 in my journey to a new me. Working out and measuring my progress has really been more than just about my body. I am not going to lie, sticking to my plan requires a lot out of me. So far these are a few of the things I can tell you about any training program or routine you try:
Has the economic recession caused you to gain weight? A recent article in the Los Angeles Times suggested that the economic slowdown may be to blame for your weight problems! Continue reading Is The Recession Causing an Overweight Population?
Most people simply hate the word fat, and as you know it can relate to more than more than one thing, but the truth is that not all fats are really bad. [...]
The beauty of working out at home is that there are no gym memberships to pay, and no excuses as to why you could not make it to the gym among others.
If you are serious about building muscle a well equipped home gym will be necessary, but for everyone else the TV room can become the exercise room between 8 and 9 pm.
I stopped by a store that sells gym equipment today to see what they had and how much it cost. Continue reading Home Workout Equipment
Although most people know what protein is good for, a quick recap cannot hurt. We will also see how to get more of it. Let’s start!
Protein builds muscles! It”s just that simple. Most experts and bodybuilders recommend consuming about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight to obtain the best results. Continue reading What is Protein Good For?
I don’t know about you, but most people will assume that organic is really better. Organic is really healthy. One thing I do know is that organic is really more expensive!
For example organic avocados are about $2.50, while the regular ones are usually on sale for $1. There are organic apples, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, pretty much any vegetable or fruit you can think of comes in two forms. The organic version, and then there is the cheap version. Continue reading Is Certified Organic Really Better?
It’s been 18 days of training! I am happy with my results so far. I must admit, however that turning into one of those people with perfect bodies as usually advertised in those 90 day programs looks like a distant me. If you do not know what I am talking about, 18 days ago I decided to start my own 90 day program. I would put myself through physical training along with a well balanced diet that I designed specially for myself.
The idea is to see what can really be accomplished within 90 days. What results are realistic, and what is simply impossible. I intend to share with everyone the results of my little experiment along with the steps you can follow to try it yourself. Continue reading 90 day Challenge Continued.
I had to talk about this. All the attention is always geared towards people who are wishing to lose weight rather than trying to gain weight. It seems that we are more likely to be overweight than being skinny (not necessarily underweight). Just like losing weight, gaining weight must be done consciously and carefully. Simply eating whatever comes my way is not going to get me where I want to be. Putting on weight doesn’t mean putting on fat. It means putting on more muscle than fat. Continue reading How to Gain Weight

I have received a few comments from readers wanting to read more about weight loss tips, and how to implement them without breaking the bank.
A gym membership can range from about $30 a month to about $90, maybe more if you like one of those fancy gyms. I consider my gym membership as an investment rather than an expense. For some people Continue reading Weight Loss Help
