Protect your financial health while investing in your physical health

The high costs of joining a health or fitness club can make the decision to purchase a membership difficult. Committing to a long-term membership is a lofty investment that usually requires upfront payment, and sometimes the experience can be lamentable. Unfortunately, some deceptive health and fitness clubs have been known to take advantage [...]

How Comfortable are you Giving your Fingerprints to 24 Hour Fitness?

24 Hour Fitness has recently implemented the cardless check-in at the gym I regularly go to; for a month or so you were able to enter the gym by either showing your member card or entering your phone number and scanning your index finger.

Although I had signed up for the cardless check-in [...]

Cancer in my life

Hello everyone!

First of all I would like to apologize; my site has been basically abandoned for a little over a year. I know there are no excuses for this, when life got rough on me I just kind of let everything fade into oblivion.

I lost connections and friends but in the process [...]

The Pitfalls Of Cardio… Why Your Cardio Workout Could Be Killing Your Results

When it comes to working out, a lot of us are brainwashed about the way to get great ripped results. This is a bigger issue for women but I see plenty of men making this same mistake quite often as well.

Spending too much time and relying too much on cardio. If you’re spending over 30 minutes on your cardio going the same old speed, then you’re going to be left disappointed.

Sure the cardio deck at the gym is probably twice the size of the free weights section, but the truth is that cardio is not the best way to lose fat, to gain definition or to get any visible positive results… quite the contrary…

Cardio can actually be ruining your chances at a tight, lean, ripped body!

Why Long Cardio Endurance Sessions Suck…

1. You’re burning muscle, not fat. What a rude awakening! As a huge fan of running I hate to write this… but it’s true. Your body needs energy to keep you going on the machines and after 20 minutes it’s going to start breaking down your muscle, which is very energy rich!

2. Slow down your metabolism. You’re muscle is your fat burning powerhouse. Continue reading The Pitfalls Of Cardio… Why Your Cardio Workout Could Be Killing Your Results

Human Growth Hormone

If you have been researching your workout alternatives online you have probably come across “Human Growth Hormone” advertisements, but do you know what the risks of using Human Growth Hormone are? The body naturally produces this hormone in the brain. Medically it may be applied to help kids grow and develop when doctors deem it necessary, but like everything else it can be abused. [...]

Home Workout Equipment

The beauty of working out at home is that there are no gym memberships to pay, and no excuses as to why you could not make it to the gym among others.

If you are serious about building muscle a well equipped home gym will be necessary, but for everyone else the TV room can become the exercise room between 8 and 9 pm.

I stopped by a store that sells gym equipment today to see what they had and how much it cost. Continue reading Home Workout Equipment

90 day Challenge Continued.

It’s been 18 days of training! I am happy with my results so far. I must admit, however that turning into one of those people with perfect bodies as usually advertised in those 90 day programs looks like a distant me. If you do not know what I am talking about, 18 days ago I decided to start my own 90 day program. I would put myself through physical training along with a well balanced diet that I designed specially for myself.

The idea is to see what can really be accomplished within 90 days. What results are realistic, and what is simply impossible. I intend to share with everyone the results of my little experiment along with the steps you can follow to try it yourself. Continue reading 90 day Challenge Continued.

Weight Loss Help

I have received a few comments from readers wanting to read more about weight loss tips, and how to implement them without breaking the bank.

A gym membership can range from about $30 a month to about $90, maybe more if you like one of those fancy gyms. I consider my gym membership as an investment rather than an expense. For some people Continue reading Weight Loss Help
