This is a repeat of Snacking

If you are wondering why I am posting something that was already posted, the answer is this:

The post titled “Snacking” from February 3, 2009, was causing the entire blog to display incorrectly on Internet Explorer. If you were using a different browser you probably never noticed. I had to delete that post, and re post it to the blog. Thanks!

Snacking

Who said that snacks are bad for you? Snacking in between meals will help you pretty much in every level. I am one of those people who gets really cranky when hungry, to a point where those around me cannot stand me anymore, and I usually end up saying things I do not really mean.

As if the above reason wasn’t good enough to convince me to always have a snack with me, there are other benefits. Snacking in between meals will help you control your hunger, so when it is dinner time you won’t eat everything you see. This is great if you are trying to lose weight, as long as you chose the right snacks. If you are trying to gain weight snacks can help with that too.

What are good snacks? Certainly not cookies, a glass of coke, or a doughnut. Popcorn is great (without butter of course), fruits, whole grain bagels, yogurts, energy bars, peanuts, peanut butter sandwiches (I’d be carefull about choosing the right brand of peanut butter).

If you leave your house in the mornig, and normally have lunch out, you either skip your snack or have a bad one, right? Think ahead and get it ready in the morning when you leave for work. Even if you are not working, let’s say that you just go out for a walk on a beautiful day, right after lunch (like I did today), you should carry something with you for when you get hungry (I did not do this, and I regre it!).

Remember: snack only on healthy foods!
